The Price of Caskets Cause Grave Concerns.

We don’t mean to be flippant, but one of the fixed costs of funerals is changing.  As Baby Boomers come to the end of their lives the number of deaths in the US is projected to be 3.6 million by 2036, according to a Wall Street Journal report.  That is up a whopping 50% from where it is now!

The choice of cremation over pricier caskets has caused the casket makers an increased hardship.  In this report, it indicated that U.S. casket shipments are expected to total $456 million by 2020 which will be down from a high of 1.2 Billion in the year 2000.  Some funeral homes are now “pushing” a more expensive URN to make up for the revenue loss.

Colonial Funeral Home, serving all of the great state of Connecticut, simply does not do that!  They listen to your needs.  No one at Colonial Funerals is trying to “sell” you.  A funeral on a budget in Connecticut is their motto.  See for yourself by visiting their website at www.colonialfunerals.com and give them a call in Hamden at (203) 407-8899.

The Funeral Home Industry.

All things considered perhaps one of the most prevalent and necessary businesses in the United States is the funeral home.  Virtually no one escapes this life without having contact with one or more.  Are you aware that nationwide the number of funeral homes has dropped by about 12% in this century?

Private ownership and management are still the benchmark for America’s funeral homes.  About 86% of them are owned by families.  There are still some out there that are publicly-traded corporations.  On average, a US funeral home will handle just over one hundred calls annually.  This may give you some idea of how much attention your family will receive.

If cost is a consideration…and really, isn’t it always in life as well as death, then consider all of the factors before you decide on the right funeral home for your family’s needs.  We invite you to visit www.colonialfunerals.com.  You will discover that this family-owned home may be just the right choice in the State of Connecticut.  Give them a call at (203) 407-8899.

Save Thousands of Dollars on Funerals.

Please keep reading.  If I told you that you could save that kind of money on your next car or house you would pay close attention wouldn’t you?  Just because the topic is not something we normally discuss why not tackle it this New Year?  The cost of the end-of-life is one of the single certainties of our time on this planet.

When someone says that you don’t have to pay exorbitant prices for a funeral why not do yourself a favor and discover how.  You see, every funeral home has access to the same services and destinations.  It is extremely rare when one of those serves Connecticut like a regular retail operation.  If you charge less, more people will seek your goods or services.

One thing that I can almost guarantee you is a visit to www.colonialfunerals.com will change your perspective on funeral homes.  You actually may laugh out loud when you see the video!  We want to treat you like an adult.  Visit www.colonialfunerals.com, serving the great state of Connecticut, then call (203) 407-8899 and talk to the Moraski family.

What to Expect for Final Expenses.

Did you just wish that funeral directors would talk with you and not at you?  If they communicated with us before we need them life would certainly be a lot easier.  I guess the problem too often is that no one wants to talk business with a funeral home when it is not necessary.  That is certainly understandable.

The problem is we all hear the horror stories about how the funeral home industry takes advantage of a family’s grief and vulnerability at the worst possible time.  Now, we don’t expect you to come knocking on our door in the New Year.  We would, however, like to educate you a bit while you are not stressed out.  We think that is the way it should be.

Go to www.colonialfunerals.com and we think that you will see a website from a funeral home like you have never seen before.  Believe it or not, you may even get a chuckle or two!  We are not in any way trying to offend.  We want to treat you like adults…with respect for your intelligence.  Go ahead, visit www.colonialfunerals.com, serving the great state of Connecticut and see what you think.

Tips for Saving on an Eventual Necessity.

As the New Year begins every funeral home says the same thing…may you have a joyous, healthy, and prosperous New Year in 2017.  We at Colonial Funerals serving all of Connecticut are no exception.  From all of us in the Moraski family to you, please have a wonderful 2017.  Now, how would you like some practical advice from a funeral director for a change?

We all have to face it eventually.  In many families the final expenses for a loved one will be a bridge that you must cross more than once.  Why not discuss two topics with those close to you…cremation and pre-planning?  They may want to change the subject at first, but in the long-run you will all be glad that you did.  You might even find it cathartic.

Whatever comes of this discussion, we do hope that 2017 will not be a year that you need our services.  If you decide on pre-planning a funeral then take a few minutes in the early part of January and give us a call at Connecticut’s own Colonial Funerals at (203) 407-8899.  Once that is out of the way, start pursuing your 2017 hopes and dreams.

Planning Your Last Big Purchase.

Whether you are planning ahead for your own funeral or acting on behalf of a loved one you better believe that death can be a major expense.  The median cost of a funeral with a viewing as well as the burial was over $7000 in the most recently reported year of 2014.  That is according to the NFDA (National Funeral Directors Association).

Even a simple cremation with nothing extra can reach as high as that $7000 figure according to the Funeral Consumers Alliance.  Full-service funeral prices may even exceed $14,000!  What better reason to plan ahead now?  Those prices are NOT going down.  And isn’t it better to be tackling this task without the stress?

In the great state of Connecticut funeral pre-planners have it much easier.  They visit www.colonialfunerals.com and find perhaps the only funeral home in the state who actively tries to save your family money in the planning of final expenses.  Visit the website www.colonialfunerals.com then give them a call anywhere in the state of Connecticut at (203) 407-8899.
